We Caught Up With Our Interns From 2021

We recently had the pleasure of catching up with our two interns from 2021 , Tamsyn Louw and Sindi Kalumba.

Tamsyn, interned at Quoin Online last year while completing her Honours in Property Studies at UCT.  During her time at Quoin Online she was exposed to key areas of the business, allowing her to gain invaluable experience in the property industry and mentorship from Karen. She successfully completed her Honours at the end of 2021 and walked straight into corporate life in January 2022.

Tamsyn Louw

“It was a tossup; do I start working and get some experience under my belt or do I continue studying and complete my Masters? I decided on the former and joined Horizon Capital. Leaving University and starting my first job was a daunting experience. However, my colleagues at Horizon Capital made the orientation process and transition into the working world a smooth and enjoyable one”

At Horizon Capital, Tamsyn has flourished gaining exposure across the business working within various teams such as asset management, development, and marketing.

“My role in the Asset Management Department includes managing the leasing and marketing of commercial properties, generating portfolio evaluations, and developing strategies and detailed reports for clients”

Tamsyn is just 6 months into her first job and already she appears to be making big strides in the property industry.

Sindi joined our team in 2021 as one of our interns. Mainly taking on administrative tasks, with the objective of gaining invaluable experience in the property & technology industry. Sindi joined us halfway through her second year of Property Studies at UCT. As a people’s person, her first two years of university were indifferent, with lectures and learning conducted off-site, and remotely due to COVID-19. In 2022 Sindi has finally been able to experience the joys of on-site University life.

Sindi plans to continue with her studies in 2023, completing her Honours in Property Studies at UCT. Sindi re-joined the Quoin Online team in 2022 as an intern to continue growing her knowledge and learning valuable skills in the property industry.

“Engaging and debating in lectures with classmates and lecturers has ramped up my understanding and knowledge of Property Studies. I now know what it feels like to be a student”

“The exposure and experience I have gained working at Quoin Online has provided me with a platform to build and grow from”

We welcome back Sindi with open arms, and look forward to adding and contributing to her development as an aspiring property professional.
