Area Description

This Northernly located suburb of Johannesburg is commonly known as one of the city’s most vibrant, ‘fashionable’ hubs and is perfectly located in relation to Sandton making it convenient for any corporate base. Being one of Johannesburg’s oldest suburbs, there is an incredibly established feel in the area which bodes well for property values and rental rates. Parktown is considered to be a slightly more reasonably priced option compared to other commercial hubs namely those located in and around Sandton. Although Parktown has plenty of offerings available there are a few sought after gems offering good quality yet value for money. Sunnyside Office Park is somewhat iconic in the Parktown real estate market and is one of these gems. Its established feel offering beautiful trees, gardens, water features etc. ensures that there is a constant feeling of tranquillity at Sunnyside. A skip and a jump from Killarney Mall as well as featuring a fully secured and boomed entryway makes Sunnyside an incredible commercial offering. Schools

Parktown is home to a number of excellent schools, ranging from pre-primary schools to preparatory schools to high schools. These include: Parktown Boys high School is one of the oldest schools in Johannesburg. It is a public English medium high school for boys offering boarding and day schooling. In terms of girl schools, Parktown Girls High School is set in quiet, attractive grounds and maintains a healthy balance of tradition, discipline and a progressive approach to contemporary education.
